The Game of Life?

They say life is a game, but I don’t think that’s true. Games are about who wins and who loses, while in life you can’t really determine that. Some people think they’re winning because they have so much money that everything seems free; or they are on TV and have a million followers on Instagram; or they work out five times a week and look good; or they even have a happy family (which really does feel like winning). The truth is each of us is a razor’s edge away from the tragedy that will overturn the whole kit ’n’ kaboodle.

Maybe this isn’t the best way to entice you to play this game, to say that you won’t know whether you’re winning or losing, but that’s life. For some reason you clicked on the illustration of a fellow I feel certain you never heard of, T. Allen McQuary, the Purple Knight of the Ozarks, who in 1897 claimed he went around the world to win the hand of a sixteen-year-old girl in Arkansas.

Why did you click on his picture? Obviously, because you were curious, which is also why I wrote the Purple Knight Chronicles: to see what would happen next.

And that’s why you will also click the Draw button below:

Which image will be “your” gateway and where will the gateway lead?
Whom will you meet?
In whose story will you find yourself?

So, go ahead. Take a chance.

Click Draw. It’s your life.
